THE AIA FELLOWS

The 2012 Jury of Fellows from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) elevated 105 AIA members to its prestigious College of Fellows, nine from the Northwest Pacific Region. Out of a total AIA membership of over 80,000 there are over 3,000 members distinguished with this honor. New Fellows are entitled to use the designation "FAIA" following their names.

The elevation to a Fellow is conferred on architects with at least ten years of membership in the AIA who have made significant contributions in the following areas: the aesthetic, scientific, and practical efficiency of the profession; the standards of architectural education, training, and practice; the building industry through leadership in the AIA and other related professional organizations; advancement of living standards of people through an improved environment; and to society through significant public service.
